The Santa Fe Public Schools Language and Culture Department hosted the District Spanish Spelling Bee on Thursday, March 9, 2023.
The participants from grades 4th-8th competed at their individual school sites in order to qualify for the District Spanish Spelling Bee.
The following schools were represented:
- Academy for Technology and the Classics
- Cesar Chavez Elementary School
- El Camino Real Academy
- Kearny Elementary School
- Mandela International Magnet School
- Milagro Middle School
- Ortiz Middle School
- Ramirez Thomas Elementary School
The winners of the District Spanish Spelling Bee were the following:
1st Place - Sergio Manuel Juárez Pavón, 8th Grade, Ortiz Middle School
2nd Place - Kendy Melara López, 6th Grade, Kearny Elementary School
3rd Place - Dana Lopez Lopez, 7th grade , El Camino Real Academy
SFPS District Spanish Spelling Bee First Place Winner, Sergio Juárez Pavón will compete in the State Spanish Spelling Bee on April 29, 2023 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Albuquerque, NM.
